Boris: Join uniformed groups to gain skills

Mayor Johnson today unveiled a new programme to boost job prospects for thousands of young Londoners and steer them away from crime.
In plans outlined during a visit to the Merton Sea Cadets Centre, thousands of young Londoners will have the chance to join uniformed groups like the Guides, Scouts and Cadets, helping them develop vital skills and instil discipline and responsibility. The programme, run by the Safer London Foundation, is aimed at young people particularly at risk of being excluded from education, training or employment.
