Boris opens International SOS HQ

Boris was in Gunnersbury this afternoon to open the new global headquarters of International SOS and welcome them to the capital.

Speaking at the opening, he highlighted the importance of bringing investment to London. Point 3 of Boris Johnson’s Greater London Plan is to create 200,000 jobs over the next four years and it is important that businesses match Boris’s optimism for London.

This will only happen by supporting them and working together in a cohesive way and International SOS is a great example of the opportunities that having a competitive local economy can bring.

Supporting businesses and growth directly benefits Londoners by offering employment opportunities to local people. International SOS hope to increase their workforce by 50% over the next three years, bringing an economic boost to the local area and the capital, as a whole.

To ensure that London reaches its potential it needs to have an infrastructure to cope with the growth that investment brings. As Mayor, Boris has secured £22 billion of extra investment in London’s Tube and for Crossrail, completed the orbital rail link, built 50,000 affordable homes with plans for 55,000 more, invested £221 million in London’s high streets and has ambitious plans for an airport in the Thames Estuary.
