By Boris Johnson, Mayor of London

On 3rd May Londoners have the chance to vote for Mayor.

The stakes have never been higher, and this election is going to be very close. That’s why I am asking the capital's voters to consider applying to vote by post in this important election, ensuring your say in our capitaI’s future.

Together we can move forward with positive plans to keep cutting crime, keep council tax low, protect investment in transport infrastructure, make the Olympics a success and grow Greater London’s economy.

Or, under Ken Livingstone, London can return to a past where the Mayor’s share of council tax went up every  year, crime was on the increase, money was wasted on pet political causes, green space was under threat and preparations for the Olympics were uncertain.

I urge you to apply to vote by post - guaranteeing you’ll be able to have your voice heard: www.backboris2012.com/postalvote

When I was elected in 2008, I promised to work day and night to turn things around - working with all of Greater London’s boroughs and Londoners, whatever their background or politics. As a result:

  • Crime is down by 10%. Bus crime is down by 30%.
  • There will be 1,000 more police on the streets by May.
  • Council tax has been frozen every year and will be cut this year.
  • Billions are being invested in transport, creating 32,000 jobs and the Olympic facilities have been delivered on time and under budget.

I'm working alongside our local London Assembly candidates to take Greater London forward over the next four years. We have come a long way but there is much to do. With London preparing to welcome the World for the Olympics, we must not put this progress at risk.

But you can only make certain that Greater London moves forward by voting. Don’t miss your chance to do this.
