Election day statement from Boris Johnson to all Londoners

‘Today Londoners go to the polls to decide Greater London’s future.

‘It’s going right down to the wire and every vote will count.

‘The choice today is simple; going forward with my plan to invest in the things that will create jobs and growth, or going back to Ken Livingstone who would put that investment at risk.

‘My plan creates 200,000 jobs and cuts council tax by 10%. That is what is at stake today.

‘The election will come down to a handful of votes. That’s why it’s vital that Londoners come out today between 7am and 10pm to back my 9 point plan to take London forwards.

‘I will get the funds London needs.

‘I will unite London - not try to divide one group from another.

‘I want to take London forwards - not back to the 1970’s.

‘I believe I am best placed to lead London out of the recession and lengthen our lead as the greatest city on earth.

‘That’s why I am asking Londoners to back me today. For Greater London. For the future.’
