9 point plan poster launch

Boris Johnson this weekend set out his nine point plan to secure a Greater London, in a speech on Saturday and then at the launch of the poster campaign on Sunday.

1,000 posters will go up across London - from Croydon to Enfield and Hillingdon to Havering. They detail Boris’s determination to end the waste and mismanagement of the previous Mayor to free up money to pay for a strong plan for London’s future.

Boris secures £90m to keep police numbers high

Mayor Boris Johnson has secured £90m to keep police numbers high on London's streets, despite the harsh economic climate.

The grant from the Home Office follows last week's news that 700 new police officers will be sworn in over the next two months. And with this increase, the number of police on London’s streets will top 32,320 by March 31 – meaning that under Boris Johnson, there will be 1,000 more police officers on the streets.

Ken Livingstone's Assembly allies vote against Mayor's budget, council tax freeze

Yesterday, Ken Livingstone's allies on the London Assembly - led by his Deputy Mayoral running mate Val Shawcross - voted against Boris Johnson's budget, which delivers a fourth council tax freeze in a row and secures 1,000 extra police officers by May 2012.

Improvements in Barnet

I shall be backing Boris Johnson again in the 2012 Mayoral Election because, as a pensioner and a resident of the London Borough of Barnet since 1964, I have noticed the improvements in this area since he became Mayor of London.

By freezing council tax again, again and again he’s really helping those on a tight budget cope with rising bills and the ever increasing prices in the shops. Scrapping the wasteful Londoner newspaper to help keep tax down really is the kind of thing we want our Mayor to do.
