Join the Royal couple's celebrations
While fans are already queuing outside Westminster Abbey for Friday's Royal Wedding, Mayor Boris Johnson is giving the Londoners the chance to take part in the festivities. The Mayor has organised for Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding to be broadcast live on giant screens in Hyde Park and Trafalgar Square. Those attending are being treated as guests and, in keeping with wedding tradition, are encouraged to dress up for the occasion and wear a hat.

Safer London leads the country
Figures out today show crime is falling across the country. They also show London is outperforming the rest of the country in certain areas. According to the Home Office statistics drug offences in London have fallen at five times the rate as the rest of the country.

Transforming transport
Mayor of London Boris Johnson today strengthened his top team at City Hall as he delivers an unprecedented transformation of the capital's transport network. Isabel Dedring will become Deputy Mayor for Transport, while Deputy Chairman of Transport for London Daniel Moylan, who will work with the Mayor to deliver key projects, will increase his time commitment from two to four days a week.

London's Olympic build going swimmingly
The 180,000th and final tile was laid at the Aquatics Centre by Paralympic swimming champion Liz Johnson. The centre, designed by Zaha Hadid and featuring a 160-metre wave-shaped roof, is well on track for an on-time completion this summer. To mark 500 days until the start of London Games, the 26 year-old visited the pool where she hopes to win gold next summer.

Royal Wedding - Live!
Hyde Park and Trafalgar Square will host live broadcasts of the Royal Wedding so Londoners and visitors alike are able to join in the celebrations. Prince William and Kate Middleton's special day will be broadcast on giant screens in these two iconic London locations, organised jointly by the Mayor of London, the Department for Media, Culture & Sport, and the Royal Parks.

Boris delivers on London 2012 preparations
The chief Olympics inspector today praised London's preparations for next summer's Games, saying the capital is at the same stage as Athens was the day before the Games opened there in 2004. The Olympic Stadium has already been completed, trees and plants are taking root around the site, and an entire block within the athlete's village is finished.
